Eco-friendly is becoming a trend and it seems that even the longest and traditionally large gas consumer vehicle might be interested in a share of the market.  A custom coach builder, from Springfield Missouri, has plans to stretch a Nissan LEAF EV into a limo.

The actual company planning to engage in the project, Imperial Coach Builders, is a subsidiary of Electric Car Company, Inc.  According to a recent project order, they'll stretch the Nissan LEAF by almost 50 inches to become a 225 inches long limo.

As the president of Electric Car Company, Gary Spaniak explains "This will be the first conversion of this revolutionary vehicle and the first pure electric limousine" ¹.

The stretch Nissan LEAF will then be able to seat almost twice as many occupants as the conventional model. Imperial Coach Builders did not disclose the seating configuration of the new vehicle, nor how the additional length with affect the EV's 100-mile range or electric powertrain, but we anticipate that all the details should be announce soon.
