Pioneering Nissan LEAF Wins Two JAHFA Awards

Since its inception in 2010, the Nissan LEAF has taken the world, and global media, by electric-storm, gathering up awards and accolades in its path. Most noteworthy, the zero-emissions EV picked up the 2011 "World Car of the Year" title this past April at the New York International Auto Show. Now, the revolutionary LEAF has once again stolen the spotlight and earned not one, but two prestigious nods from the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame (JAHFA).

Nod number 1: "2011-2012 Car of the Year"

The Nissan LEAF won this award based on the following:

-          An impressive EV-IT system that facilitates easy vehicle operation
-          Gumption shown through the creation of a ground-breaking EV
-          Overall attractiveness and competitive features
-          Recognition across global markets

Nod number 2: "2011-2012 Car Design of the Year"

JAHFA took the following into consideration for this accolade:

-          Use of expressive styling on an EV sedan body
-          Futuristic interior design
-          Reduction of wind noise through exceptional aerodynamics

Hunt Nissan has outlined some of the key points leading to the automaker's most recent LEAF honor. Additional features that we believe make the electric model attention-worthy include the ability to employ the high-capacity lithium-ion batteries for domestic power supply as well as a stand-out driving range of over 100-miles per hour on full charge.

As you can tell, we're extremely proud to see how far the Nissan LEAF has grown in such a short amount of time.
